Lion's Gate Ministries

The goal at Lion's Gate Ministries is to live out Matthew 25: 35-36.

"For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick, and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."

Initiatives

The mission of Lion’s Gate Ministries is to help people in need around the world through conducting prison ministries and Alpha courses, mentoring, counseling, delivering food and clothing, providing housing for young adults and leading international missions trips.

Prison Ministries

Weekly Bible studies at Juvenile Detention Centers and follow up visits as the young people served are transferred to other jails or programs or go home.

The Alpha Course

The Alpha Course is an 11-week introduction to Christianity. Lion's Gate Ministries runs the Alpha Course in the jails and outside of the jails in its community. The goal of Alpha is to discuss God and some of life's biggest questions.

Walter Hoving Home

Lion's Gate Ministries is partnering with Walter Hoving Home to come alongside and support the women currently going through their recovery program. Hannah & Joy with Lion's Gate Ministries have been able to use their skills in cosmetology and photography to serve the women and team over at Walter Hoving Home. Lion's Gate Ministries' hope is to sponsor some of the women to go through cosmetology school in the future after they have completed their time at the program.

Housing

One of the Lion's Gate Minsitries missions is to help people in need around the world by providing housing for young adults like Javier. At twenty years old, Javier was referred to Lion's Gate Ministries by a homeless shelter for teenagers. Since joining the Lion's Gate Ministry Home in July 2019, Javier has become a part of our family and we have had the privilege of watching him grow and achieve some of his goals. In June 2020 Javier graduated High School, which was a huge accomplishment! Javier is the first in his entire family to ever attend school so it was amazing to see his dream of graduating come true. He is now able to work and send money home to his family in Honduras and hopes to one day become a nurse.
